Meet Alexis
Hi, I’m Alexis (she/her)—a yoga teacher, mindful movement guide, and lover of slow living.
I took my first yoga class in college while earning my degree in Biochemistry, looking for something to help balance the intensity of school. That one class sparked a journey I never expected—one that brought me more self-awareness, laughter, and time to simply breathe and observe.
My passion is helping others explore their practice without fear of judgment. I know how it feels to carry stress, overthink every detail, and feel disconnected from your body. My goal is to help you gently come back home to yourself—through movement, stillness, breath, and the occasional journaling session.
When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me walking my dog, exploring new places, or soaking up quiet moments with a good book and a cozy drink.
Our Approach
At Alexis on the Mat, our classes are a blend of gentle strength and deep support.
Each practice is designed to meet you exactly where you are—whether you’re on the go, in a season of change, or just craving a moment of calm. You’ll be guided through mindful movement that honors your body, invites curiosity, and creates space to breathe.
My classes are inclusive, empowering, and always judgment-free. I take time to get to know each student personally so I can offer thoughtful support, modifications, and encouragement that feel right for you. You're never just another mat in the room—you’re part of a community.
Expect breathwork woven throughout, occasional journaling sessions, cues that help you move with intention, and space to slow down or explore deeper—whatever your body and heart need that day.
This is yoga you can take with you: on your mat, in your mind, and into your everyday life. Come as you are. Let’s move, rest, and grow—together.
